Eventually and after some tension, Arbroath FC attained a respectable position to consolidate our status in Division 2 for 2009-09, and can now enjoy a proper close season - WITHOUT playoffs. The ground - probably the best lower-league stadium in the world is being improved as we speak, the club's finances stayed in the black for the fourth year running. The future is bright, the future is MAROON.
As we look ahead. is it onwards and upwards in 2009-10? Division 2 will continue to be very competitive - 40% of the teams have already changed for this coming season (no other league anywhere including Scotland has such a high turnover) so it's a different ball-game. Can we cut it - will we challenge near the top of be condemned to regular struggles against relegation? Which players are in and out?
Looks like the first competitive match (Challenge Cup) will be in late July so its coming around sooner than you think. Enjoy the break but indulge the speculation on the season ahead.
