Elgin rise to second place after easy victory over Montrose

Four second-half goals saw Elgin climb into second place in Ladbrokes League Two with a 4-1 win at home over 10-man Montrose.

Montrose had Terry Masson sent off for a foul on Archie MacPhee after just six minutes, but it took Elgin until the 53rd minute to open the scoring when MacPhee struck low into the centre of the goal

Chris McLeish doubled their advantage eight minutes later with another close-range effort before Shane Sutherland made sure of victory

Michael Bolochoweckyj hit a consolation for Montrose 12 minutes from time but Brian Cameron wrapped up victory.

Arbroath slipped to their first defeat in 10 matches and into fourth place when a late goal from Ouzy See gave Edinburgh City a 1-0 victory their dominance deserved.

Having started the match bottom of the table, Edinburgh climbed into eighth place and are now unbeaten in five.

The away side were in control more the majority of the match but it had began to look like luck was against them when Gordon Donaldson's goal was ruled offside and Mark McConnell's shot was cleared off the line.

However, Edinburgh finally got the goal their dominance deserved in the 82nd minute when See struck into the bottom left-hand corner

With leaders Forfar not playing, Clyde had hoped to close the gap between the two sides at the top of the table, but instead fell to defeat at Cowdenbeath.

It was another late goal that sealed the victory, Kriss Renton heading home after 86 minutes.
