Ten man Lichties fight to keep it alive

clash994 souls turned up at a chilly Links Park - hardly justifying segregation.   Arbroath had Doris back in the front line, and a simialr backline to last week with Rattray on the right.

Not the liveliest encounter by all accounts and we were probably unlucky not to take more from this one.  We had more possession but Montrose probably carved out a few more chances

Looked like things were going against us again when Sinclair put Montrose ahead after 31 minutes but a goal from Steven Doris ten minutes after the break levelled matters.  Lovely curling shot from the right edge of the area

As things got more serious the ref proved a little card happy booking 2 Mo players first half then five Arbroath in the second. we had to play the last quarter of the game with 10 men as Falkingham received his second yellow.

Amazingly De Milta was booked for diving when he looked to have been fouled and deserved a penalty.

it will be no easier in the replay but at least we showed some grit
