Stuttering disjointed Arbroath can't match Forfar's commitment

A decent turnout of Lichtie fans had to suffer a frustrating cold evening at Station Park where Forfar adapted much better to the sodden and slick pitch and conditions.

After a close call for our defence in the first minutes, they carved us open for an easy goal by Kilgannon after 4 minutes. Thereafter they were first to almost every ball, kept it simple and created more openings throughout the game. Darren Hill made a string of good saves to keep us in it.

Arbroath didn't lack effort but could not strong three passes together and were given no time on the ball by a Forfar side continually biting at their ankles. We created half chances across the game but Watson (first half), McBride, Raeside, Sellars and Scott could all have done a little better.

you had the feeling this was going to be Forfar's night when after a first half goalmouth stramash, their keeper held on. The officiating again threw up some bizarre decisions but we couldn't blame them for the outcome

Up front, on the few occasions when a ball reached him, Scott's poor first touch let him down badly. Deasley came into the game and showed some threat before being substituted. None of our subsitutes Brazil, Tosh or Reilly, touched the ball

Forfar deserved this result and so did we. We're dropping too many points to teams in the lower reaches - Forfar, Albion, Dumbarton
