More effort but another late defeat

A rather depressed home support turned up again expecting the worst after recent dismal outcomes. The result was the same - a late concession after leading early - but there was more fight about the team

Brechin's more expensive squad, with at least one earning £500 a week, demonstrated their class and were the better team for much of the game. But Arbroath competed and had chances to win it. Scott and Gates up front gave us some threat and Rattray at the back some stability

Brechin's Gary Twigg scored twice as his side kept their promotion bid on track in the derby against Arbroath.

The home side took the lead in the 20th minute when Bryan Scott headed home past Craig Nelson. However, Brechin levelled after 34 minutes when Twigg nodded home John Baird's cross.

Michael O'Neill's side piled on the pressure in the second half and, with 10 minutes left, Twigg headed home again from Charlie King's delivery.

We need to turn the corner soon but are not out of sight of the pack ...YET
