Down and out - another scoreless home defeat

Once again the team was slow out of starting blocks and Cowden took the initiative first half.   This ended up as Cowden's third straight victory - they've adjusted well o this league after late entry through the back door, turning the tables on the season's opener at Central Park.

We don't seem to do `comebacks' so the writing was on the wall when, on 16 minutes Dean Droudge's cross from the right caused havoc and Linton arrived at the back post to head home.

Arbroath came out second half fired up and put the visitors under fairly pressure. But relatively few clear-cut chances were created. We forced a number of corners but strong defensive performances from Mbu and Winters kept the Lichties at bay.   We managed 10 corners throuhout the game and 9 goal attempts.   Even the 19 fouls conceded suggest we were tenacious.

Arbroath did have the ball in the net but a foul was given against Steve Hislop on goalkeeper David Hay who tumbled to the ground without much sign of contact. Home fans seemed to think he was simulating injuried but he was stetchered off. Home fans are so frustrated they boo anything now

Once again, we were determined enough later on but seem to lack the guile and the cutting edge to make it count. The current manager's tenure must now be in the balance
