Arbroath 2-1 Albion- Match Report

Red Lichties maintain play-off push

Arbroath maintained their play-off place after two goals in the final seven minutes secured a 2-1 home victory against lowly Albion.

Only Scott Morrison's reflex save prevented Christopher Dallas from giving Todd Lumsden's men the lead with a firm right-footed strike after 32 minutes.

The visitors eventually broke the deadlock when Patrick Walker got the final touch on Gary Phillips's corner to force home a 55th-minute opener.

Michael Travis almost got the hosts back on level terms five minutes later but his goalbound effort was brilliantly tipped round the post by Wee Rovers goalkeeper Matthew McGinley.

The game then turned in the Red Lichties' favour when Barry Russell was shown a straight red card in the 82nd minute and Scott Robertson was upended by Ciaran Donnell inside the area moments later.

Steven Doris stepped up to tuck away the spot kick, his 15th goal of the season, before Alexander Keddie headed home Ross Chisholm's 89th minute cross to complete the turnaround.
