BRECHIN CITY boss Ray McKinnon couldn’t hide his pride in his players after their 3-1 derby win over their Angus neighbours.

The home side grabbed the lead from the penalty-spot after 39 minutes when Graham Hay converted after Andy Ryan had been brought down in the box by David Banjo.

And 16 minutes after the break Ryan increased their lead when he collected a great pass from Steven Robb before slotting the ball past Scott Morrison.

Alan Cook gave the visitors a lifeline when he fired home a screamer but Derek Carcary struck deep into injury-time to make it 3-1.

McKinnon said: “The players haven’t had a lot of luck in recent games but they played some great football today and I’m delighted for them.
