Unbalanced record - picking off the fellow stragglers

Last updated : 02 February 2009 By Fargone
The win against Alloa was the latest in a series of decent results against the teams in and around us - our direct competitors. Its been an unbalanced season so far. We've averaged a very respectable 2 points per game against teams currently in the bottom half of the table - a total of 18 compared with only 3 points garnered from teams in the top half (ie a solitary away win at Stirling Albion)

If we had to choose then its not a bad strategy - pulling out all the stops against the strugglers and also denying them points. As it happens, the fixture list has us playing 7 of the last 14 games against current top half teams and 7 against current bottom-half sides. But it would be good if we could grind out a few more draws against the top-half teams
