C:WindowsTempphp6346.tmpFrom the Arbroath HeraldArbroath chairman John Christison has revealed his delight at the start the club have made this season – and paid tribute to the work of boss Allan Moore and No.2 Todd Lumsden.

..   the chairman insists the feelgood factor around the club is down to the new management team and the players.

“I was thrilled when we got Allan and Todd in to the club, they were are great fit, exactly what we were we looking for,” said the chairman.

“It wasn’t going to be easy with such a high turnaround - players leaving and new guys coming in - but they have made a great start.

“The thing about Allan Moore is, there is no hiding place, if you aren’t performing he will let you know - quickly!

“The guys like Kevin Nicoll, Paul McManus and Bobby Linn...they’ve been brilliant”

The ‘older’ heads have certainly caught the eye so far, but it’s a younger player that has made an impression on the fans.

Canadian Under-20 star Carreiro, on loan from Dundee, was a stand-out against Clyde and Christison is happy to have such a crowd-pleaser at the club.

He said: “ He is one of those players who excite, he gets the ball and is so direct, never afraid to have a go at goal.

“Players such as him make things happen in games and we are delighted to have him at the club.

“His first goal was an absolute peach and his pass for Simon Murray’s goal was fantastic.

“It has been a great start to the campaign and long may it continue - winning football that excites the fans!”
