Some of the season's highlights

peaksGames and results

  1. A very promising August.   Kicking off the season with that amazing 5-7 win at Elgin, edging past Stirling in the league cup then winning 3 of the first 4 league games inlcuding 4-2 vs Ayr and -23 away to Alloa.  19 goals in our first 6 games undefeated - and we thought we were in for a repeat of our frescoring form of last season.
  2. Beating Forfar three times (scoring 10 in the process) and even the last gasp equaliser in the December game at Station Park.
  3. Late late or last minute home goals to beat Stranraer and Albion R (twice), and the late Holmes equaliser at Forfar
  4. Two hardfought away wins at Alloa
  5. After a dire first 6 months with only one away win - we then set off on a  great run of away wins winning five of the last 7. Not always pretty

Performances

  1. Second half of the season, the defence looked a much more solid unit with Baxter, Travis, Keddie and Hamilton - probably the player of the season - and also fairly potent going forward
  2. Two solid goalkeepers in Morrison and Bullock kept us in it
  3. Steven Doris's tireless efforts upfront all season, though some edge seemed to be missing later on
  4. Sheerin continued to give a creative masterclass most games though other aspects of the game
  5. Some good invididual performances across the season - Graham Bayne's opening game against Forfar, Currie against Alloa, Kerr in quite a few

...on balance not enough outstanding moments and we just couldn;t score enough. A lack of pace and sharpness upfront combined with limited creating or supporting presence from midfield
