Arbroath are due to meet Cowdenbeath at Central Park in a re-arranged second division fixture this coming Saturday.
But Cowden have contacted the Lichties expressing doubts over whether their pitch will be serviceable by then.
The idea of reversing this game with the April 17 meeting of the clubs at Gayfield has been floated but Arbroath have already taken hospitality bookings and, with temperatures forecast to remain below zero over the next few days, they aren’t sure their park would be playable by the weekend in any case.
