Phil McGuire Signs for Lichties

ARBROATH HAVE strengthened their squad ahead of the derby with BRECHIN by signing the vastly experienced Phil McGuire (30).

The former Aberdeen, Dunfermline and Inverness Caley Thistle defender has been a free agent since the January transfer window closed.

McGuire, who can also play in midfield, made 201 appearances for the Dons, scoring 15 goals, before heading for Doncaster Rovers. He was latterly with Highland League outfit Formartine United.

It fills the gap left by Dobbins' departure and injuries to McLoughlin and Reniis
