More problems at left-back

From the Courier:  Arbroath boss Allan Moore has blasted the red tape that has stopped him having a look at former Celtic youngster Jordan Lowdon as he looks to fill his problem left-back position.

The Red Lichties have lost Jonny Lindsay for two months with a groin injury and former Motherwell defender Euan Murray only lasted 25 minutes as a trialist before going off injured against Berwick recently.

Moore was keen to give Lowdon a chance, as the 22-year-old has just returned to Scotland after a spell with New Zealand Premier League Champions Waitakere United. However, international clearance is required before he can play.

A deal needs to be in place before international clearance can be sanctioned and that leaves Moore in a quandary.

He said: “I want to see Jordan in action as a trialist before offering him anything. However, before I can see action I need to offer him a deal.

“It is a bit of a catch-22 situation and is not fair on the boy or us. I will keep speaking to him and the SFA to see if there is anything I can do
