Loons beat Lichties in Forfarshire Cup

Forfar beat the Lichties 4-1 to progress to the semi finals of the Forfarshire Cup this evening.

Forfar scored early on through a Mathu King shot from 6 yards out, after a good cross into the box from Paul Tosh, who was playing on the right of midfield. On the 13th minute Forfar went 2 up. A bad clearence from Timmy Woodcock saw Neil Clark cross the ball into the box for Martin Maher to volley home. The Loons ended all hope for Arbroath in the 40th minute. A good ball through the middle for Paul Tosh saw the Loons top scorer make it 3 for Forfar with a well stuck shot into the corner of the net.

Arbroath got a goal back around 10 mintes into the 2nd half. A mistake from Neil Ferrie saw Steven Cook hit the post before following up and making no mistake from 2 yards out. Forfar then regained there 3 goal cushion in the 67th minute when a good cross by a cross by Clark found the head of King who put the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.
