Holmes and Sheerin answer the critics

holmesCritical comment on the terraces and online is always welcome.

But, as we have struggled a little this seasonl both Derek Holmes and Paul Sheerin seem to have attracted a degree of unwarranted criticism from sections of the Lichtie ` support'.

Our win at Alloa was down to a strong shot from Sheerin from outside the box which the keeper parried for Holmes to pounce and convert from a tight angle.  Both had good overall games until subbed.   Alloa fan "I thought Paul Sheerin had an outstanding game for Arbroath today and totally bossed the midfield".

Sheerin has some failings but is a class act as a player.  It's still a privilege to have such a creative talent in the side .. and he seems ready to sub himself when necessary

Holmes is perhaps our only `natural'' striker (7 goals from 12 starts - no penalties include).   He may be a bit bulky and only suited to certain games but is a rare and really useful asset.

A bit of appreciation wouldn't hurt
