Our last win against Stenny - March 2008. Time to set the record to rights

From the Arbroath Herald :  ARBROATH manager Paul Sheerin is hoping his side can bounce back as quickly as possible from the defeat at Albion Rovers on Saturday that ended their seven-game unbeaten run.

The Lichties have now slipped to second place in Division Two and tomorrow face Stenhousemuir, one of only two teams that have already inflicted defeat on the Gayfield men so far this season.

But Sheerin is ready to show that the result at Albion Rovers was a minor blip and that his side can quickly return to winning ways.

“After defeat the most important thing is rectifying it and bouncing back with a win as quickly as possible.  “Of course we wanted to continue our run on Saturday to keep up there and we were disappointed.

“But if we get the right result tomorrow then with a couple of points difference we could open a gap up over Stenhousemuir and get back to winning.”

And being left to rue numerous missed chances at Cliftonhill, the manager is hoping this time that they will be taken.

He said: “We probably had about three or four clear-cut chances on Saturday but converting them and scoring goals has never been an issue with us.

“So we were disappointed we weren’t able to do that.

“But any other day we would have scored them so hopefully we can convert our chances tomorrow.
