Fighting spirit needed

C:WindowsTempphp654.tmpFrom the Arbroath Herald:  Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin is calling for his side to stand up and be counted after yet another league defeat at Dunfermline on Tuesday night.

The Pars had suffered a shock defeat in this fixture earlier this season but there was no likelihood of the upset being repeated.

And afterwards Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin criticised his players for showing a lack of fighting spirit.

He said: “I thought Dunfermline were very comfortable. The second goal just absolutely kills us and you can see that. I don’t think we respond well enough to that.

“The players have been excellent even though we’ve not been picking up points, they’ve had a real heart and a real desire but I can’t say that tonight unfortunately. We need now big hearts and people who are going to stand up and be counted.”
