Outgoing McGlashan says Arbroath played well

John McGlashan has quit, but he refused to criticise his players after Arbroath's fourth straight home defeat of the season.

The 1-0 defeat by Cowdenbeath leaves the Red Lichties just one point off the foot of the Second Division table.

McGlashan, who quit yesterday after four years in charge, said: "Apart from the result, I haven't any major complaints. The team put in a really good performance and we lost to the only half-chance Cowdenbeath created. We played extremely well for the majority of the game.

"We had several half-chances of our own and we just needed someone to put them in. If we play like that on a weekly basis we'll certainly win more games than we lose. I'd be loathe to criticise anybody, although it is a sore one to take."
