A dastardly draw has left the Lichties with a Scottish Cup replay against Montrose tomorrow.

Despite his disappointment at the score, manager Allan Moore is confident that his team will be able to pull off a victory.

He said: “I can’t say I am ever happy with a draw at home but at least it keeps us in the cup.

“We didn’t go too mad at the players on Saturday as we’re still in the cup and I’m looking forward to another crack at Montrose.

“We have an opportunity to get us into the next round and stay in it.”

Arbroath were leading 2-1 at half-time but let the game get away from them. Moore blames the fouls. “In fairness we gave them too many free-kicks,” he said. “Two into the box seemed to sail straight in. We’ve got to be careful of that.”

Looking ahead to the rearranged match against Annan Athletic a week on Tuesday, Moore said: “It’s a hard place to go, especially on a Tuesday, but we’re playing well with six wins out of seven in the league, it’s a good record.

“They play on Astroturf and we train on Astroturf so we should be fine from that point of view.

“We played well against them before but each game is new. We’ve got to stay buoyant and confident.”

Moore has managed to secure Jordan Lowdon for tomorrow giving them options on the bench. “That’s a big plus. He puts pressure on Scott McBride on the left wing. Last week we didn’t have many options and young Jordan gives us that.”

Dylan Carriero is still missing from the squad as he trains transatlantic with the Canadian national team.

“It’s a bit of a blow as Dylan was just starting to establish himself in the team. He’s inventive up front but Jordan has some of those characteristics, which is great,” Moore said. Conor Birse and Jack Smith are still out from injury.

The league fixture that was scheduled to take place between Annan Athletic and Arbroath tomorrow will now take place on Tuesday, October 21, at Galabank, with a 7.45 p.m. kick-off.

This has been rearranged due to tomorrow’s William Hill Scottish Cup second round replay between Arbroath and Montrose. Segregation will be in place for the replay at Links Park. Arbroath fans will enter the ground via the Union Row turnstiles.

The winners of tomorrow’s replay will face a home tie against Nairn County in the third round of the cup.
