C:WindowsTempphp4D78.tmpFrom The Courier:  Arbroath goal hero Alan Cook is prepared to play through the pain barrier to help the Red Lichties in their battle to avoid relegation.

The speedy midfielder, who has been suffering from ankle ligament problems, bagged two quickfire goals at the start of the second half of Saturday’s win over Stranraer.

The result keeps the Gayfield side’s survival hopes alive as they now sit four points behind the Methil men at the foot of the table with three games remaining.

Cook said: “I’ve only trained once in the last three weeks and if it was any other situation I wouldn’t be playing, but I want to help.”
