Much Better - Arbroath match the leaders but we're pipped by woodwork and penalties

Arbroath made a better showing than in previous weeks and were unlucky to leave New Bayview without a point.   We had FIFTEEN goal attempts to Fife's 4 - mind you that's more than we've managed the past 6 weeks

A decent 1,340 crowd turned up mainly for the league title celebrations afterwards - second season running we've been the `bridesmaids' at such as event

Arbroath took the lead from Lunan after 21 minutes. Two second half goals by Paul McManus gave East Fife the win. Arbroath were disciplined and hit woodwork three times. Two bookings - Rennie and Bishop

Elgin's defeat at Montrose takes us the playoffs. We' ve lost three games to East Fife this season but all have been close.

We've not turned the corner but today showed that we can be organised and impose ourselves on the game so maybe we can do something in the playoffs after all
