Brechin eased to victory after a shocking 2nd half performance by the Lichties.

The Glebe Park side attacked right from the off with Paul Ritchie putting a 25 yard effort just wide in the 1st minute. After this though things started to look better for the Lichties with most of the early pressure and we nearly went infront on 5 minutes with a volley from 20 yards out from Kevin McMullen going just over the bar. All the pressure paid off on 16 minutes when a through ball to Paul Farquharson saw Farqy push the ball past Craig Nelson in the Brechin goal and put the Lichties 1-0 ahead. Sadly this was the last good thing to come out of this match for Arbroath.

3 minutes before Half Time Brechin got a deserved goal through Graham Gibson. Euan Donaldson lost the ball trying to shepperd it out and Paul Ritchie took advantage with a good cross to Gibson who headed home.

The 2nd half continued in the same trend as the 1st with Brechin piling forward. They wont several corners in a row and from 1 of these they scored their 2nd. Brechin scored a 3rd and efectivly ended the goal on 71 minutes. A good cross into the middle saw a great tackle on Paul Ritchie by Jamie Bishop but sadly the ball landed to Charlie King, who stuck the ball home from 12 yards.

Brechin completed the 2nd half scoring with a 4th goal a minute from time. David White headed a long ball forward and Chris Templeman stroked the ball past Woodcock in the goal.
